Padstow's Tamar class all-weather lifeboat Spirit of Padstow was launched yesterday (Friday 9 November) at 1.45am to go to the assistance of a local fishing vessel that had fouled her propeller while hauling pots west of Lundy Island.

The charity's lifeboat crew arrived on scene at 3.32am, took the vessel under tow and began the long journey back to Padstow Harbour, arriving safely at 10.35 am. The vessel was left alongside so it's crew could await the falling tide and be able to remove the obstruction from the propeller. Conditions were overcast with showers and a moderate groundswell.

Padstow RNLI lifeboat Tamar class 'Spirit of Padstow' was launched at 21.16 to reports of a kayak drifting off Harlyn Bay with what appeared to be a rucksack on board. When on scene we searched and found the kayak. The object on board was found to be a very poor attempt at a dummy with a football head and branches for arms. Members of the public when asked by the Coast Guard team stated that it had drifted off the beach earlier that evening. We then recovered the kayak and returned to station.
