21 May 2013 - Padstow Lifeboat launches to assist fishing boat

Padstow RNLI lifeboat Tamar class 'Spirit of Padstow' launched at 2.16pm today
(Tuesday 21st May) to go to the aid of a local fishing vessel experiencing engine problems.
The vessel was already under tow by another fishing boat but was unable to make headway due to sea conditions.
On arrival at the scene just off Stepper Point the lifeboat proceeded to take over the tow and bring the vessel up the river towards Padstow.
Whilst under tow the vessel's crew managed to get the engine started, so the lifeboat released the tow and escorted the vessel up the channel into Padstow Harbour.
