RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew from Padstow launched at 4.00pm today (Sunday 31 May) to assist a Catamaran with engine failure in Harlyn Bay.
The Catamaran had taken shelter in Harlyn Bay, but when the winds changed the vessel was on a lee shore and with engine failure was in need of assistance.
Harlyn Bay lifeguards in their Arancia collected two lifeboat crew who went aboard the Catamaran to assist with the towing.
The Catamaran was towed safely alongside Padstow quay and the volunteer crew returned to the station at 5.45pm.
Coxswain Alan Tarby said: ‘It was a successful operation and it was a great example of lifeguards and lifeboat crew working together.’
