The Padstow lifeboat crew launched at 8.35am today (1 June 2018) to assist a yacht where the propeller had become entangled in debris at the mouth of the Camel Estuary.

The crew of the yacht was able to remove the debris (including a black building supplies bag) from the propeller by scuba diving to it. The yacht was then able to proceed to around halfway up the Camel Estuary where the volunteer RNLI crew arrived on scene and established a tow line. The yacht was taken safely into Padstow Harbour and the crew returned to the lifeboat station at 9:45am.
